About the show
RanchHer profiles the extraordinary women of the ranching industry. The show isn’t limited to just ranching. It offers an intimate look at family life, day-to-day operations, industry policies, and community. Each of these women plays an important role on her ranch and in the industry as a whole, and we want to tell their stories. Hosted by Janie Johnson, RanchHer celebrates ranching culture and Western heritage through the eyes of the woman.

MEET THE HOST: Janie
A true Texas cowgirl and RanchHer, Janie Johnson has deep roots in
the western lifestyle.
Janie’s dad, Clint Johnson, is a four-time World Champion Saddle Bronc
Rider and her mom, Mindy, competes in the National Cutting Horse
Association. Following in her parent’s footsteps, Janie has competed in
multiple rodeo events from a young age, including rodeoing while
earning her degree at the University of Texas with high honors in
Radio/TV/Film.
Over the past 10 years, Janie has worked with the best talent in western
sports. From associate producer to becoming a lead behind-the-chutes
reporter of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, Janie has interviewed
the best cowboys and cowgirls in the world on the most prestigious dirt.
After two years of traveling the country coast to coast for The Cowboy
Channel and reporting live from over 100 PRCA rodeos, Janie recently
returned to her family’s ranch in west Texas to take on more of an active
role in ranching day to day. Today, she lives in Canyon with her saddle
bronc riding husband, Jake Finley, and continues to barrel race as a
professional cardholder in the Women’s Professional Rodeo
Association. She enjoys working on her family’s cattle ranch while also
continuing to build her career in television.
